VIDEO: Watch Mayor Guthrie Deliver the 2017 State of the City

This morning, Mayor Cam Guthrie delivered the annual State of the City address at a Chamber of Commerce hosted event at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre. The theme of the address: #GuelphProud.

Among the highlights of the speech were the hiring of a new CAO, rejoining the County of Wellington's social services committee, new investment in infrastructure and jobs, the service review pilot project, the launch of the civic accelerator and the rebranding of Guelph as a civic tech hub.
"If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my first two years as Mayor, it’s this: Guelph isn’t about roads and pipes or bricks and mortar. It’s not about programs and services. It’s about people," said Guthrie, noting how this year is not only Canada's 150 birthday, but the Royal City's 190th. "Let’s resolve to never take our city for granted. Let’s keep celebrating our successes. Let’s keep working together to make our city even better. And let’s resolve to be Guelph Proud."
